These are great for throwing in a suitcase, drawer or laying on your miniature bed. You'll need a piece of material with a small print that would look good in miniature. Cut a piece 2" wide x 7" long. Fold the material in half lengthwise. Press a crease into the material with your finger. Fold it in thirds lengthwise, to have the two ends meet. Press a crease into the material with your finger again, so that when you unfold it you will be able to see where to cut out the neck opening. Fold the width of the material in thirds now, and crease with your finger. Unfold the material and cut out a moon shaped or triangle for the neck opening in the center width wise and under the crease lengthwise. So it should look something like this now. . . (I'm using a piece of paper as an example in this pic so that you can see the folds better. The triangle cutout is the collar.) |
Now that you've cut out the neck opening you can fold it back up in half, then fold lengthwise to meet edges and glue the edges together. (quick dry glue works great and you don't have to wait long to continue on to the next step) After the glue dries, you can fold the material in thirds widthwise and just glue along the crease from the collar. Dress up the collar with lace, bunka, or with a thin strip of material. Look at some of your own blouses to get an idea of the variety of ornamentation that you could use. Make a label for your shirt by scanning a few from your own clothes or here's a few that you can use below. Just right click on the image and save it to your computer, then print it out in preportion to your shirt. |
