No dollhouse would be complete without the kitties hanging around getting into mischief, and what better way to stir up some trouble than with a few cat scratchers with toys on them.

Start off with a thin 1" square piece of wood.  Upholster that piece of wood with a piece of dollhouse carpeting.  You can then use a round doll rod or a rectangular piece of wood for the scratcher, about 1 1/2" tall.  Either upholster the piece with dollhouse carpeting or use hemp to wrap around for a sisal rope look, gluing the hemp as you wrap each strand around.  Finish the top in the same manner so that none of the wood is showing.

Glue the scratcher to the base.  Insert a piece of wire through the top and glue.  Add a feather or a fuzzy ball and let your mini kitties have a blast.

If you'd like a bigger variety for ideas, just go to a search engine and type in cat scratchers.  There are tons of web sites to get ideas from for your mini version.
