You can buy these kits at almost any miniature store or at your local miniature shows.  If you'd just like to order them on line, check out www.miniatures.com and search for 144 and you'll see all the kits that they sell. I used a few items from hobby shops that were N scale for these projects.  It's not the exact size but pretty close.  Here's a great site that carries tons of N scale figures if you are interested in adding some little people to your 144th scale projects:  www.oakridgehobbies.com.
